Pre-paid carriers have just as much competition to keep up with as the big boys. While they may not always offer the highest end of devices, many do a pretty solid job of keeping decent devices available at good prices for current and would be customers. With fall right around the corner it is imperative that companies like Cricket Wireless, and everyone else for that matter, gets on board with promotions to end summer and start the downward weather trend with new offers. This morning Cricket Wireless jumped out with an announcement regarding their fall promotions, which will officially be available tomorrow, September 11th.
The leading offer is the HTC Desire 520. It sports a 4.5 inch screen with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor and 1GB of RAM. It houses 8GB internal storage and does offer a micro SD card slot. You will be pleasantly surprised to find HTC Sense 7 installed on Android 5.1 along with a 8MP rear camera with a 2MP front shooter. Cricket will be offering this little Android device up to consumers for $99.99 with activation.
While the Desire 520 is the leading offer, it isn’t the only offer. If you are porting a number into the provider you can snag a LG Risio for $19.99, down from $49.99, or a LG G Stylo for $99.99 instead of $149.99.
The carrier is also extending their Cricket Protect offering. This is their insurance offer for devices. Generally consumers have 7 days from the time of purchase to enroll and if they miss that opportunity they are out-of-luck. For a limited time, between September 11th – October 30th, all current and new customers can jump on board in an open enrollment period. Depending on the device you purchased the cost is $7 – $10 per month for coverage.
“When it comes to giving people more than they expect from a no annual contract carrier, Cricket is delivering big time,†said Janna Ducich, vice president and chief marketing officer, Cricket Wireless. “That’s why we work closely with manufacturers like HTC to bring customers what they want: high quality phones at affordable prices on a network with more 4G LTE coverage nationwide than T-Mobile, Metro PCS, Sprint or Boost. Add in our easy-to-use and affordable service plans with expanded international offering and the prices that include taxes and fees, and it’s clear, it is time to switch to Cricket.â€
