It is rumored that Chinese smartphone makers Xiaomi and Huawei will launch curved display smartphones using the display panels of Korea’s LG and Samsung. As you already know, Huawei and Xiaomi are the largest smartphone manufacturers in China at the moment and are steadily growing in number of users daily.Â
According to Chinese information technology website “MyDriversâ€, Xiaomi and Huawei will release the curved smartphones in September. It’s Huawei that’s said to source the panels from Samsung whereas Xiaomi is expected to get its panels from LG.
Until now, LG has unveiled the curved, flexible smartphones in G Flex series but Samsung has used dual edge displays. It is still unknown what Xiaomi’s smartphone will look like as there are rumors that LG will use a new shape of curved screens due to not so high sales of its G Flex series.
It is expected that Xiaomi’s phone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, 4GB of RAM and a 16 MP rear camera and will be priced at 3,000 Yuan (US$463 or 526,680 won) and Huawei’s  phone will be sporting its in-house-developed Kirin 950 chipset and 4GB of RAM with a price tag of 4,000 Yuan (US$617). Both handsets are expected in September this year. Stay tuned, we’ll report back as soon as more info surfaces.
