The guys over at Gearbox have created robotic balls that are powered by Android devices. These robotic balls communicate through Android devices, which allow them to be controlled by speed and movement. A current game they play is called “Sumo,” where they try to knock the opponent’s ball off the table (sounds painful). Their Android device, used to control these balls, has an onscreen display which includes stats, damage, and potential power-ups, while the tilt of the phone determines the direction their ball rolls. This is just a prototype as pricing and availability have not yet been established, but the concept is great.
