SCVNGR Brings New Life With Social Check-In Service

SCVNGR plans to hit the Android community hard, one check-in at a time with their new social check-in service that is making its way around the Android community rewarding users for going different places. Implementing a point system, users who “bump” phones acquire two points and you don’t necessarily need to know the other person. SCVNGR has their own “near-field device-to-device recognition technology” built in the application, so you do not even have to know or meet the other user. If you share your location over social media sites like Facebook or Twitter, SCVNGR automatically @mentions every user associated with their check-in service. Android 2.1+ devices are the ones that can take part in the adventure. Unlike other check-in services like Foursquare which gives you badges and stickers for your progress, SCVNGR turns your whole experience into a game.
