Evo Helps Bring Sprint Out Of Three Year Slump

For the first time in three years, Sprint is finally showing positive numbers. What does this mean? This means that this is the first time in three years that Sprint has actually gained customers compared to how many they have lost. Sprint needed a device like the HTC Evo 4g and they’re not slowing down now, as the Samsung Epic 4G is preparing for launch offering another 4G device with sleek features. In an announcement today, Sprint has stated that they have gained around 111,000 net subscribers in Q2. Net subscribers is the left over amount after the number of leaving subscribers has been subtracted with that of new subscribers. The HTC Evo offered the first front-facing camera and the 4G compatibility which instantly attracted new customers.

Can Sprint continue their improvement in Q3? With the Samsung Epic 4G on its way, Sprint’s U.S. variant of the Samsung Galaxy S, market numbers are sure to rise as the Epic 4G offers features the other U.S. variants don’t, like the front-facing camera and a slide out full QWERTY keyboard. Sprint has made a complete 180 since entering 2010 and the only thing that can stop it are themselves.
