Rumor Alert! While many devices have yet to receive Android 2.1, it looks like Android Police is reporting that one of their sources, who supposedly is very close to the Android core, has tipped them saying that Google is going to drop the SDK (Software Development Kit) for the next version of Android OS, codenamed “Gingerbread,” sometime next week.
We urge you to not take this to heart as it’s just a rumor, but if this were to happen we could get a look at the upcoming stock UI overhaul which is rumored to be coming by using the emulator. While the firmware version number Gingerbread will bring is still unknown, many respected members around the community are dismissing Gingerbread as being Android 3.0.
What new features would you like to see in the upcoming Android firmware?
