Samsung has released their first phone that comes with DLP Pico Projector known as Samsung i8520 “Halo”. But one shocking thing is that, the phone comes with Android 2.1 . That’s really interesting that Samsung is taking Android more serious than Bada OS. The phone was revealed at Mobile World Congress.
It’s an high end phone featuring:
- 1 GHz Samsung processor(not confirm yet)
- 3.7-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display
- 8 megapixel autofocus camera with flash (VGA on the front)
- 2GB Internal memory(512 MB ROM / 384 MB RAM + 16GB MoviNAND)
- DLP Pico projector integrated
- 802.11b/g/n WiFi
- Bluetooth 2.1
- A-GPS
- stereo speakers
- standard 3.5mm jack
- DLNA support
- Android 2.1
But the UI is not like Android. Engadget confirms that the smartphone is running on Android 2.1. Lets talk about the Super AMOLED display. What’s the differnece between AMOLED and Super AMOLED. The difference is that the Super AMOLED offers five times “clearer†and 20% better visibility when used outside compared to traditional AMOLED display. Really? I thought the AMOLED display of the Nexus One is the best.
