HTC Desire users are having some bad luck with the 2.2 update that has been released. 3, a large cell phone service provider in the UK, released the update a couple of weeks ago. After releasing the Froyo upgrade consumers have been reporting issues accessing the Android Market.
Before the release of Froyo on 3’s network, testing had shown no signs of problems, despite issues that other carriers were experiencing with the Desire. Johanna Whitaker, 3’s social media producer, is claiming that it is not just 3 who is being affected by the update glitch, as Android devices on other UK carriers have experienced this issue as well.
For now HTC has decided to stop the release of this update stating that it is a Google issue, and until a fix is implemented the release will remain halted.  Android users that are affected are being told to factory reset their device, and to make sure they backup their information before doing so.
