It looks like the Wi-Fi only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab has meandered over to the FCC. This Wi-Fi only version which was recently advertised at Best Buy will run you $499 instead of the $599 you’ll pay for the Galaxy Tab outright, but will still be a little more than the carrier subsidized Galaxy Tab which will run you $399 and will require a data plan.
The Wi-Fi only Galaxy Tab only tests for 802.11 and Bluetooth wireless, but then again since you can’t make voice-calls on the U.S. variants of the Galaxy Tab, the Wi-Fi only Galaxy Tab seems a bit more realistic unless you’re ok with dropping a minimum of $20 extra a month and getting locked into a contract.
