8Pen Keyboard Sings “Free at Last!”

After only a week in the market at the low price of $1.50, 8Pen Keyboard has decided to do a little update in not only the application, but also the price. We posted about this new and interesting alternative way to type just last week and I’ve got to say it was a very different experience. There were a few gripes I had after playing with the keyboard, mainly no voice support, but many of them have been fixed in this update. Here’s a look at the change-log

New in version 1.1

  • Auto-space is now optional, and disabled by default
  • Voice input (Android 2.2 with voice recognition enabled)
  • Preview popup
  • Improved dictionary support (suggestions, auto-complete, quick fixes)
  • Basic themes
  • Height adjustment
  • Fine-grained shift pressure threshold
  • Optional vibration when passing through central region
  • Slightly modified numeric layout, for easier access to #, & etc.
  • HTC Tattoo fix
  • Fix of phone keyboard bug that caused force close on some phones

There’s no telling if the keyboard dropped its price due to lack of downloads or it if it just did really well, but now that it’s free make sure to scan the QR code for the market download and sound off in the comments your thoughts on 8Pen.
