With mobile growth constantly increasing and mobile technology constantly evolving, Panasonic wants to get in on the action and coming in 2011, Panasonic plans on doing just that in Japan with expanding overseas in 2012.
With the Apple i*hone and Samsung’s Galaxy S devices topping the charts in Japan, Panasonic is planning on changing the game.
“We misjudged the speed at which smartphones would be taken up in the Japanese market,” Osamu Waki, head of the company’s mobile communications unit told a news conference. “With the rapid shift to Android, we want to catch up quickly.”
As you have read in the above statement from Osamu Waki, the head of mobile communications from Panasonic, they’re looking to catch up rather quickly and we’re curious what type of handsets they have in the works to achieve that goal. Panasonic has a large investment in technology from Blu-Ray players to televisions and we can’t wait to see their first Android handset. How do you all feel about Panasonic’s shift towards the mobile market while embracing the Android OS?
