One of the surprises that debuted with the announcement of the Amazon Appstore was the exclusivity of Angry Birds Rio. However, it seems recent developments suggest otherwise.
Following the announcement of the Amazon app store last week, Rovio said via Facebook that an ad-supported version of Angry Birds Rio would be headed to the Android Market. Avaibility has not been disclosed as of yet but the game is supposed to be ready by this week, it’s delayed due to a couple of bugs found since the launch of the game. Although the game is being released on the Android Market the ad-free version will still be available from the Amazon Appstore.
Perhaps the biggest part of this news is the fact that international users will be able to obtain a copy of this game, since the Amazon Appstore only caters to people in the US. Apparently there was some fine print involved in the exclusive announcement involving Angry Birds Rio and Amazon as the ad-free version is the only thing exclusive.
