Amazon has released their FREE app of the day, and today we have Collapse by Real Networks Inc.  Collapse is break the bubble style game with blocks that you have to remove in groups of 3 or more. As usual, you should head over and download it as it’s FREE, so why not give it a shot, you can always uninstall it.
Get Ready to Collapse!
Real Networks brings their flagship PC game Collapse! to Android. Collapse! is a graphic-intensive, updated take on block-clearing games. The game challenges you to clear out blocks out as rapidly and accurately as you can. Embark on an epic quest to save the realm from villainous characters. Travel through five lands, earning gold stars and the coins needed to purchase crucial power-ups. Unlock secret locations for more adventure. Or to play a casual game, select Quick Game and choose from seven game modes.
The object of the game is to clear out groups of 3 or more blocks of the same color as the screen fills up with rows of blocks. When you tap a group, that group disappears and you score points. Each tap counts; if you tap any blocks that are not in a group, you lose points for accuracy. The lines of blocks will start rising with increasing speed, putting your finger-eye coordination to the test. The larger the group you clear in one tap, the more points you earn. You can see what color blocks are coming up in the next row, so there is an element of strategy to the frantic block clearing.
Special Blocks
Collapse! throws in Special Blocks to add to the block busting brouhaha. Super Bomb removes all blocks within a radius of three blocks. Color Bomb removes all blocks of one color. Row Bomb removes an entire row. Cross Bomb removes an entire row AND an entire column. Hourglass pauses the game for 10 seconds. Scrambler reshuffles the blocks. Last but not least, the Blocker blocks blocks! You must use the Super Bomb, Row Bomb, or Cross Bomb to clear out those Blockers.
The Quick Game modes include Classic, Relapse, Strategy, Puzzle, Panic Attack, Continuous, and Countdown. In Relapse, you have to deal with blocks coming from the top of the screen while preventing a block collision. Strategy holds off on giving you more rows until you remove a few stacks of blocks. Puzzle involves clearing blocks in as few moves as possible. Panic Attack features blocks dropping from the top of the screen: only removing five or six blocks pauses this upper row feed. Continuous is a marathon mode to see how long you can survive in one go. Countdown tests how many blocks you can clear in one minute flat.
Questing for Blocks
Quest Mode takes you to a far-away realm in need of your block-clearing heroics. After choosing your hero’s outfit, travel through different lands to face increasingly difficult and strange levels. You’ll encounter fearsome foes such as the mighty Blocktopus and the dreaded Blockula. As you journey through this land, earn coins to get explosive power-ups and purchase powerful upgrades to bust those blocks.
Extra Stuff
The Collapse! app has even more goodies. In addition to the PC version, there is a Facebook Collapse! app that allows you to compete against your friends. In the Extras screen, there is a series of codes to unlock secret levels. To get these codes, you must find them in the PC version of Collapse!, complete specific quests within the game, and get them from the Facebook version of Collapse!.
