Although the Sony Xperia Play doesn’t feature a dual-core processor, a fancy display, or a 3D camera it does offer something not heard of in a phone. As the first Playstation certified device this phone has access to exclusive Playstation game downloads as well access to the PSN. While it may simply seem like the Xperia Play is only offering users more games to play, playing these games by use of the slide-out Playstation controller is an unparalleled experience in the world of cellular phones.
Although this phone successfully launched in Europe a while back, a US release had remained some-what elusive. As with all phones we’ve seen our share of rumors, hints, and leaks. A release date has been finally slated for May 26th however, as of yesterday this device is available for pre-order via Verizon’s website. Verizon states that pre-ordered device will be received earlier than those bought physically. With a price tag of $200 it comes in at about average among the new phone’s hitting shelves. Anyone going to pick one of these up?
