AT&T has finally announced the deployment of their LTE network which is set to rollout this Summer. The initial launch will encompass five cities which will be:
- Dallas
- Houston
- Chicago
- Atlanta
- San Antonio
Additionally AT&T plans on expanding this coverage to 10 more cities by the end of the year, with an end goal of covering 70 million people by the end of the year. Although we’ve yet to see any LTE devices AT&T has stated that they plan to release 20 new devices this year some of which will be “LTE capable.”
With almost half the year gone it seems as if we’ll be seeing quite a few devices in a short period of time. We can only hope some of these upcoming offerings will include a few high-end Android devices which will actually live up to the 4G branding.
