I’m sure noone has forgotten the long road Samsung Fascinate owners had to endure waiting for their update to Froyo. In fact it was only a mere 2 months ago that it happened.
At this point we’ve seen a few Gingerbread leaks for the some of the other Galaxy S phones, we’ve yet to see anything come out for the Fascinate. For those willing to flash alpha and beta builds of select ROMs, Gingerbread has been readily available for some time now thanks to the many developers. Not having a device specific base makes developing for a this device a bit of a pain and although we’ve seen lots of progress.
Having said that a Gingerbread leak has just emerged which should help remedy a few of those problems. Although it’s only a test build it contains the Gingerbread drivers and various other device specific system files which should help further development. This may not help the users running stock builds however, with the leaks emerging it usually means an update is in the works. Either way you look at it it’s a win.If you’d like a quick preview a video has been provided below. For installation instructions and downloads stop by the My Droid World thread.
