Just imagine those days when you want to just chill in the yard, break open a beer, fold out your favorite lounger and enjoy the midday sun. What’s missing!?!  Some music maybe!
We all have our Smartphone’s that can stream music from the Internet or play your favorite albums from your music library; well you can layback and plug-in your headset or you can wirelessly connect your phone to a SuperTooth DISCO box and crank out your beats for everyone to hear.
Pair up your phone with the SuperTooth DISCO and what you have is a portable speaker system with built in re-chargeable batteries that can be taken almost anywhere and last for hours, all the while streaming your music with incredibly loud and clear sounds.
Introduction:
Wireless technology has come a long way and most devices today, from computers to smartphones, MP3 players to Tablets feature Bluetooth technology that allows two devices to connect and exchange information including stereo sound. This is where the SuperTooth DISCO comes in to play. The SuperTooth DISCO is a portable stereo speaker system capable of streaming music from any Bluetooth A2DP device, including Android Phones, iPhones and iPads, just to name a few. The SuperTooth Disco is equally compatible with all other phones, PCs and MP3 players that support Bluetooth A2DP.
Specifications:
The SuperTooth DISCO is rated for about 10 hours of playback at medium volume. Less volume gives longer playback and higher volumes gives less. You can also leave the device plugged into the mains if you’re near an outlet, thus not having to worry about the battery. Power is rated at 28 watts and it certainly pumps out the vibes with ease. There is Bass setting that would normally be left on and provides a great sound, but this can be turned off and will provide even longer battery life, however, at the sacrifice of sound quality. The SuperTooth DISCO is 89mm high and 315mm long with a single control circle in the middle front of the speaker. From the front control panel you can control the power and volume, pause and play, as well as forward and reverse your music. The base of the speaker has rubber feet for safely standing on most surfaces and the overall feel and construction is extremely high.  The surround of the device is like someone took a metal grill and wrapped it all around the device; similar to a Guitar amp with a big bold volume knob slap bang in the middle.
While the device is portable, it’s still not the kind of size you’ll want to carry around very often. But when you do, it comes with a nice cover that can be left on while you’re using the device and has a flap in the back providing access to the charging and line in ports. Yes I did say line in. If you don’t want to use Bluetooth, you can always connect any device with a 3.5mm headphone socket using the supplied cable. This does improve sound quality a little, but with a device this size, it’s negligible.
If you didn’t already know, Bluetooth compresses your audio to transmit over the airwaves so the quality is decreased connecting in this way. This in no way distracts from the sound quality of this device, but a true audiophile would probably notice the difference.
Summary:
Overall, the SuperTooth DISCO is an impressive device with excellent sound quality and construction for the $150 it costs. It’s staying in my top 10 list of cool gadgets and is well worth the money. If you want portable wireless sound for your Bluetooth enabled device, look no further than the SuperTooth DISCO.
I have to admit that I never expected such an awesome sound to come from such a small package. Â Whatever they did on the inside, they did it right!
