[Update] Original Lapdock for Motorola Atrix on sale for only $50

Many of you will remember when the Atrix 4G was launched. It seemed like it would be an amazing phone that had one of the best accessories available for any smartphone, the Lapdock. It allowed you to stick your Atrix in a dock and give you a full laptop type of experience using your phone. It was a great idea but Motorola initially made this accessory nearly $500. That of course made it more of a novelty item then a standard accessory average people wanted to purchase. As of late though, Motorola has taken the experience and started new projects to increase the devices support and future success. That does leave the current Lapdock sort of out in the rain. That is good news for the consumer though. The original Lapdock is now available at an affordable price of only $50.

It is stated that the accessory only works with the original Atrix. After finding this deal I easily found a few MODs that should allow the Photon 4G and the Atrix 2 to utilize the device as well. Although not using the flip-up dock, but rather and HDMI cable. Might not be the most convenient of modifications, but would still give you the ease of access you might be looking for. It would be just like if you hooked up your device via a USB and had it sitting right there next to you. Not really a big deal in my opinion. At $50 I am tempted to pick one up just for the heck of it.

If you have been waiting for the Lapdock to come down in price and become affordable and justifiable, now is your chance. It certainly won’t go any lower and we are certain the next version of this dock will be back in the $300+ range. Point your browser over to AT&T to take a look and get your order in before this offer disappears.

[UPDATE] Seems like that $50 price has just been shifted up. They are now set at $99.99. Still, a hundred bucks isn’t all that horrible for what you are getting. Thanks for the heads up Sheryl, much appreciated.
