Instagram app under construction for Android

Anyone that has had an iPhone or knows someone with one, has probably heard all about Instagram. It is a photo sharing app that allows the users to apply effects to photos and then share them. With the app touting 50 million users already, it would be stupid to not get an Android version out in the market. Chief Executive Kevin Systrom has stated today that they are indeed working on an Android version of the app.

“We have two people working on Android now. I’m excited to be able to see our numbers today nearly double.”

From the sounds of his announcement, it will be ad based and that should make it free in the market. He didn’t give any time line on when the app would becoming out or how close they were to finishing it. We can only hope it lands soon. We will be sure to let you all know when it does land int he market.
