Droid Bionic finally getting the bugs out with new OTA Update

The DROID Bionic is one of those devices that, well, had some trouble for a very long time. Issue after issue plagued the device and forced the launch date further and further back. After launch it seemed like it still wasn’t actually ready for the prime time. It has been riddled with bugs that made people question their purchases. Things silly like – the device turning back on after you turned it off or power cycling on you and locking up while connected Bluetooth or HDMI. All rather annoying bugs that can really effect you using your device. We can expect bugs like that on a custom ROM but a mainstream stock device, it’s just craziness.

It looks like Motorola and Verizon have finally got the kinks out of the device and adding in a ton of new stuff and other fixes. This looks like one of the biggest updates I have ever seen coming for a device.

In addition to fixing many of the common bugs that people were experiencing, you can now connect up to 8 devices via the Hotspots feature, improved the camera auto focus to reduce shutter response time and fixed lockup while browsing the web during hand off from Wi-Fi to 4G. The total update will be running a whopping 54.5MBs and push you up to build number 5.5.893.
