Ever since Google released the source code for Ice Cream Sandwich, plenty of developers out there got to work quickly to bring us that delicious treat to our devices. Some of you are probably waiting for CM9 to drop, and others (like myself) are ambitious and will flash any alpha or beta version of ICS we can get our little hands on. I DON’T CARE THAT THE CAMERA DOESN’T WORK.
Well it looks like in the past two weeks, less than 1% of devices that accessed the Android Market, were rocking some ICS. The actual number you can see in the graph above is 0.6%. Majority of course being Galaxy Nexus users, while others being those courageous enough to test out a new port full of bugs. I am kind of anxious to see this number grow when CM9 drops in our laps. It will be a good day my Android friends. Gingerbread has taken a nice little 4.9% increase, which was taken away from Froyo, bringing Gingerbread’s number to 55.5% and Froyo’s number to 30.4%. I still find it hard to believe that there are those still rocking Cupcake out there, but then again, I have a female friend that is still playing with an original Samsung Behold. Yeah she is waiting for me to get an upgrade so she can have the pure awesomeness hand-me-down G2 sporting a brand new ICS ROM. I do not think she will be able to handle it.
If you are wondering if your device is going to get an ICS update soon, PCWorld has a list here, or if you have a ROM in the freezer waiting for you click here. For those of you waiting for CM9, should not be too much longer now. ICS party at my place when it drops?
