Gingerbread finally makes its official way to the Samsung Infuse 4G

There are many words that can describe an update to a device that many people own. In the case of the Samsung Infuse 4G from AT&T, the word ‘FINALLY’ is what many of you are probably shouting right now. The Infuse 4G was released back in May of 2011 sporting the wonderful Android 2.2 software. It offered a descent sized battery, a 4.5-inch screen and a 1.2GHz processor. All-in-all a pretty good device for the price at the time. It has since been dropped down to only $49.99. Thankfully, AT&T and Samsung haven’t forgotten about this device like they have done to others in the market.

The Infuse 4G now has a Gingerbread 2.3.6 update available for those of you still running stock. Along with the news of Gingerbread finally making its way to the device, there are plenty other additions included:

The upgrade to Android 2.3.6 for the Samsung Infuse 4Gâ„¢ (i997) provides the following customer benefits and will be available starting February 1st:

Awe man, your Angry Birds game will go away, what a drag. I am sure you will survive. The update is alive and kicking, but Samsung has yet to make it active. In order to get the update installed you will need to have Samsung Kies Mini installed to your PC and connect your device via USB cable. There will be an update button located on the software’s home screen. Once the update is finalized, the button will no longer be grayed out and you can update away.
