Motorola is starting to learn, latest ICS leak dumbs down Blur UI

When any version of Android is announced we all get up in arms over manufacturer UI’s like Sense, TouchWiz and Blur. Even though many people love the AOSP experience of stock Android, before Ice Cream Sandwich there wasn’t anything to spectacular about it. To be honest, I think it was more due to the limitations of devices and not having the technology to run what the manufacturers were trying to do. Now that ICS is out and being used on a handful of devices, we don’t think any manufacturer should ruin it for us. After years of fighting, and now with Motorola nearly being Google already, it looks like they are finally backing off a bit.

A new leak for the Droid RAZR that moves it up to build number 6.7.407. What is most surprising about the latest leak is the lack of the widely not so popular Blur UI that Motorola has been fixing since the first implemented it. The leak isn’t available for other to slap on their device just yet. Just because it is unBlurred a bit doesn’t mean that there aren’t a few of their own tweaks included. Not to mention the usual dose of good old Verizon bloatware. As you can see in a series of screen shots provided by DroidLife, there are a few new icons, dialer, lockscreen and incoming call screen. I suppose they do need make the RAZR and Motorola experience a little different.

As you can see, there are a few noticeable differences, but nothing that is dramatically devastating. I can’t say I am in love with it, but it sure isn’t a train wreck. You can take a look at the rest of what has been altered and modified over at DroidLife. Let us know what you think about the new look in the comments.
