Apparently LG is looking to make waves and possibly gain a little street credit in the smartphone game by “lobbying Google” to become the next Nexus partner. In an interview with CNET, Ramchan Woo, head of LG’s smartphone division said “We’re having discussions. We’re working on it.”
There has been nothing set in stone, nor has there been any indication as to which version of Android we can expect to see LG working with, but given the history of Nexus devices and their direct updates from Google, it’s safe to assume we’d see something rocking Ice Cream Sandwich, or perhaps even the already-hyped Android 5.0 aka Jelly Bean.
For now, we’ll just have to see how the cards fall for LG. If they end up getting a Nexus device, it’d do wonders for them, but only time will tell.
