Galaxy Nexus Navigation keys soon to be Customizable

Those of you that are lucky enough to own a Galaxy Nexus, are all too familiar with the soft navigation keys on the bottom of your screen. They are the back, home and multi-task buttons. While they work and do everything that a normal user needs them to do, Android addicts like to change things up often. That was the point on home launcher applications. Being able to change the bottom dock to apps you wanted to have access too,not what the manufacturer said you did. With the nav keys being added, home launcher replacements can’t alter them.

That sure as heck isn’t going to stop the community from customizing them though. Currently Zaphod-Beblebrox is working on a new set of controls that will find their way into AOKP eventually and most likely into many other ROMs. The new setting will give you endless customizing possibilities for that ever so wonderful navigation key section of your device. For instance you can go from 3 keys to 6. add your most used apps in the other three slots. Toss your browser down there, or a direct dial to you wife. One can already see the possibilities of having this functionality available on the Nexus. This is just one more step towards giving you ultimate control over your device and how YOU use it. Take look at the short video demo of it in action and let us know what you think.
