Well it looks like Meizu is getting into the quad-core phone game, by launching their new MX quad-core phones in June. These phones will have Meizu’s flavor of Ice Cream Sandwich called “Flyme OS”. Cortex-A9-based, 32nm HKMG quad-core Samsung Exynos chips will be under the hood of these bad boys, but there is no word yet, on the clock speed as well is the RAM they will have. The boys over at Engadget think it will be using the Exynos 4412 clocked at 1.5 GHZ, which should bump up the battery life from its dual-core counterpart.
The MX quad-cores look pretty identical to the dual-core versions, with a 4-inch 960 x 640 ASV display and an 8-megapixel camera. The 32 GB model will run the same price as the 16 GB dual-core model, which is $480 in China and $400 in Hong Kong. The 64 GB version will run at $635 in China and $530 in Hong Kong. Now Meizu claims this will be the first smartphone to utilize Exynos quad-core chips, so maybe Samsung will be using these chips for the Galaxy S III? Let us know what you guys think.
