Box updates, now localized in 14 languages, UI adjustments and More

Anyone remember Box? I would hope so. They started an entire 50GB for life campaign for a while that I know a lot of you surely took part in. I know I did. In a nut shell, Box is like GDrive and Dropbox. It is another cloud storage service that lets you sync your files to and from your Android device. While it has limitations, like a 25MB file size limit,  no streaming and no PC client, we still use it quite a bit for various things.

Today, Box released an update to the Android application that moves it to version 1.7.0. The service is now localized in 14 different languages across the globe. Including traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Czech, French, German, Japanese and others. While the additional language support is great for them and for international users or soon to be users, the rest of the update is what makes it pretty cool. They have finally made it easy to navigate by swiping from left to right through folders and files, and incorporated access via other apps using File Picker. The final addition to the Box is another great addition, you can now add shortcuts to your home screen to certain files or folders in your Box account. That is pretty cool really. It is particularly helpful if you are working on a project with a friend or business associate. Now you can drop that folder or file to your desktop and open it up quickly.

If you have Box, be sure to snag the update. If you don’t have the application you can pick it up below and give it a whirl for your self. The 50GB promo is over for all Android device but is still in full effect for LG devices, Sony tablet S and P and Sony Xperia devices. Other new accounts pick up 5GB by default.
