While everyone talks about Netflix, Hulu Plus, HBO Go and many other apps that offer video streaming for a monthly charge, not many people bring up Crackle. It is a free app in the Play Store that offers up a good size collection of Movies and TV shows that you can watch at your leisure for free. Free is a good thing right? Legally free is even better. They might not have the latest and greatest movies or the newest episode of your favorite TV show available, but the selection that they do have is enough get you some entertainment in a pinch.
The service is taken care of by advertisments which are placed inside the movie. Think of them as little commercials. No one likes them, but you live with them when you have to and to watch movies free and legally, you have to. So be prepared.
Now, on to the update. The latest Crackle update brought a lot to the table. They completely re-designed the layout and UI of the app for starters. The previous look and UI were god awful and almost a nightmare to try and navigate to find something to watch.
 
 
Next, they added support for more phones and tablets. While they failed t offer up a list of new devices, if you couldn’t use it before give it a try now. The previous version of the app worked and one could easily watch a movie, but the video quality wasn’t the best. They have since improved that greatly too. Finally, and another major addition that some of the other competitors who charge you lack, Crackle has added in and allows you to stream from your device to your TV through the HDMI out. We know this is one of the major complaints for HBO Go users.
 
Even if you have used
Crackle in the past and were not impressed, this latest update might change your mind. It is getting harder and harder to find quality entertainment that is truly free.
