Now we have been hearing some rumors about a Samsung camera for quite some time now. Samsung already patent the name earlier this year, Â so it was only a matter of time before we would be seeing awesome camera creation. I remember back at CES, they unveiled a Polaroid camera that was rocking Android, but that is all I had heard of it. Seemed like it just disappeared, but it also begged the question; do we need an Android powered camera when we have pretty awesome cameras on our phones? I think there will be people on both sides on this one.
On the one hand, no, what is the point of having an Android powered camera when my Android powered phone already has an awesome camera built-in. On the other hand, yes, I would love an out-of-this-world camera that is running the latest Android OS, Jelly Bean, and has crazy specs. Here are the specs and you be the judge:
- 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLEDÂ display
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean / Touchwiz Nature UX
- 1.4GHz quad-core processor
- 8GB internal storage
- microSD expansion
- 1650mAh battery.
- Wi-Fi only, as well as 3G and 4G options, with Wi-Fi
- 16-megapixel
- 21x optical zoom
- 23mm wide angle lens
- Nearly three dozen editing features
- Software to take optimal images, organize, and share
- Expected to arrive in Q4
Pretty crazy for a flippin’ camera. Quad-core, 16-megapixel, editing features…I think Samsung nailed what an Android camera should be, and I have no doubt that it will do well. There has not been any word on price yet, so if you have heard anything let us know in the comments below. Also let us know what you think of the camera.
