The LG Nexus 4 recently announced by Google earlier this week will add one one more useful feature to the already growing list; Tethered Display Sharing. With the help of  Analogix a Semiconductor manufacturer based in Santa Clara, California, LG is releasing the Nexus 4 with what the company is calling Slimport technology. Enabled by the Analogix ANX7805/ANX7808 Slimport transmitter, and  the ANX7730 receiver chip,  the technology will allow  Digital Video and Audio Output over a Mobile USB connector. With Configurable 1-Lane support of 5.4Gbps,2.7Gbps or 1.62Gbps data transfer rates as well as Stereo (3D) video output support Via  HDMI, what this translates to is the ability to mirror the handset display at full 1080 resolution Sweet!.
With the added benefit of being able to maximize the battery life, while also providing the option to charge the mobile device while in use, with  Nexus 4 support for  up to 8 channels of audio, should please  even the most Hardcore android enthusiast. Analogix will be releasing a total of four supporting SlimPort cables and adapters with connectivity through all display standards – HDMI, VGA, DVI and DisplayPort. The first in the series, model SP1002, is immediately available in both the US and Europe on Amazon for $29.99 (USD). Soon, it will be rolled out to the other parts of the world. With Nexus 4 set to be made available for purchase on the Google Play Store, The next few weeks should be pretty exciting.
