Shadowgun: Deadzone leaves beta status and goes official, forces you to re-sign Up

Madfinger Games released an update to the multiplayer shooter Shadowgun: Deadzone today. Officially taking it out of open beta as promised back on the 7th of this month. The open beta has been going on for a couple of weeks now. They have been rigorously testing and keeping servers up, adding in new weapons and characters and fixing various bugs. It has shaped up quite nice over the last few weeks.

There is however some interesting information that has been discovered about the update. Once you update the app, your login that you used during the beta no longer works. You will either need to create a new name or use your Dead Trigger cloud account to login. I was hoping that I could get away with out updating and still keep playing in the beta app, but sadly it appears the servers that the beta was using are no longer linked to the game. Funny, I see a lot of players landing in the lobby though.

You can install or update Shadowgun: Deadzone by clicking or scanning the QR code below. Remember, you will want to install this when connected to Wi-Fi, the file is pretty darn huge.

Application: Shadowgun: Deadzone

Multiplayer Mobile Game SHADOWGUN: DeadZone Available On Android For Free

Experience heroic multiplayer battles that have never been seen on mobile devices.

November 15, 2012 – Brno, Czech Republic – SHADOWGUN: DeadZone, the multiplayer sequel to the fan-favorite third-person shooter SHADOWGUN from MADFINGER Games, hits Google Play today. The visually stunning multiplayer game brings easy-to-use intuitive touch controls and visual detail typically reserved for console gaming systems to smartphones and tablets.

SHADOWGUN: DeadZone allows gamers to experience immersive tactical multiplayer combat on their mobile devices. Up to 12 players can battle online on various maps with 10 different playable characters and a rich variety of game content. Moreover, MADFINGER Games promises to continue to support the game: “We plan to add new items, gadgets, maps and game modes,” confirmed Marek Rabas, CEO at MADFINGER Games.

MADFINGER Games has again worked in conjunction with big industry names such as UNITY, NVIDIA and now with Ericsson as well. In addition to game pad support, SHADOWGUN: DeadZone includes a multiplayer voice chat exclusively developed and provided by Ericsson. This completely new service has never been implemented in a mobile multiplayer game to this extent before.

SHADOWGUN: DeadZone is available on Android free to play. Players can also make a premium account to get exclusive benefits. “It has nothing to do with a ‘Pay to Win’ system. We’ve been very careful about spending money in the game. Neither IAP nor the premium account gives you any advantages in gameplay, it just helps you advance faster,” pointed out Marek Rabas.

SHADOWGUN: DeadZone will be supported on Android devices with version 3.0 Honeycomb and higher.

“Madfinger is one of the best studios using Unity today and really understand how to take our technology and make it sing,” said David Helgason, CEO, Unity Technologies. “The multiplayer of Shadowgun: Deadzone is another showcase piece that makes us all proud.”

“MADFINGER Games continues to develop amazing content that plays brilliantly on Tegra-powered devices,” said Ashu Rege, Vice President, Game Content & Technology at NVIDIA. “As the beta cycles have shown, SHADOWGUN: DeadZone is yet another triumph and we’re thrilled to have helped the team launch each stage of the project.”

“We are excited to work with Marek and his talented team at MADFINGER Games. This game, SHADOWGUN: DeadZone, will set a new standard for iOS & Android games and we are thrilled to see how our voice service adds another dimension to an already fantastic game,”said Mathias Linder, Head of Global Sales&Marketing, Ericsson In Game Communication.

SHADOWGUN: DeadZone will be as well released on iOS devices very soon
