CyanogenMOD Music player, Apollo, gets released to the Play Store

In January of this year we got a lookÂ at a new project that was headed into CyanogenMOD at some point in time. The project progressed and changed names to Apollo a month later. Then an APK file was found that worked on Ice Cream Sandwich based devices later in May. After that we haven’t heard much about the music player in terms of it being available on anything other than a CM install. Just this morning though, the Apollo music app was uploaded and made available to any Android user out there with a minimum requirement of Android 2.3.

Apollo is both beautiful and functional as one might expect. It features all the things a dedicated fan of music could need in their daily lives. You can pin albums, artists, genre and playlist shortcuts to your homescreen. You can customize the theme and the layout to your liking. Mark songs as favorites, swipe between screens and so much more.

The new player comes in two formats for your downloading pleasure. There is the free version which does have ads built-in. Then there is the Apollo+ version which will see you back $0.99. Apollo+ is the same as the free version with the exception of ads being removed and being the first to get the newest updates ahead of the free version installs. No matter which one you go after, you are sure to enjoy theÂ experience.
