Samsung Galaxy S III devices on Verizon finally getting Jelly Bean OTA

The long wait is nearly over my Galaxy S III friends. As previously rumored, Verizon has finally started pushing the Jelly Bean update out to the Samsung Galaxy S III. The final carrier to do so we might add. You should all be fairly pleased with the update since it brings in all the goodies that Jelly Bean has to offer plus some other little additions from Samsung in the TW UI. You will get to experience the wonders of Google Now, Project Butter, new notification area and some new camera effects. The update also brings along ISIS support. Sadly that requires a special SIM card and you being in a location that it is actually supported in.

As with any OTA, it will go out in phases. So if you don’t see it right away don’t freak out. It will be hitting your device soon. You can always head into the menu > settings > About Device and see if you can prompt for the update manually. No promises that will work out though.

If you already picked up the update, let us know what your think. For those still waiting, be patient. You are much closer to Jelly Bean goodness then you were 2 weeks ago. Unless you were rooted and ROM’d of course.

Be on the look out for your update and make sure you are over 50% charged and have a strong Wi-Fi connection available. Feel free to take a gander at some more specific information provided by Verizon at their Samsung Galaxy S III support page.
