APP Review: Executive Assistant

If you’re anything like me you have an on screen widget for everything. One for Twitter, one for Facebook, one for SMS text messages, one for you calendar… and the list goes on. Unless you are rooted, the three stock screens just don’t have enough room for all your widgets. Not to mention the more widgets you are running the more battery it uses and it can even slow down your phone.

Here is your answer to that problematic issue, meet Executive Assistant by Appventive. The app comes in two forms, the first is free and of course supports adware (adds that pop up in places on the application) and is a free download. The second is ad free which, as far as I can tell, is the same as the original but is $2.99 and has no ad’s. the choice is yours.

Here’s what it can do for you. There are many widget size options to choose from depending on how you want it to sit on your home screen. There are various images below to demonstrate. I prefer the 4×4 version and dedicate one screen to the widget so I can see and read things at a glance. Once its installed, you go into you app drawer and select it then press menu. From there you have color and transparency, text size settings ect… you want to select settings. Sign in to your Google account so it displays your emails for you, then select Configure tabs. Now you will see just how amazing this app/widget will be for you. You can set Email, calendar, SMS, dialer, RSS Google reader, Twitter and Facebook. Talk about a life saver. Everything on one widget with tabs to change what you are looking at. You also get the option of setting up your preferred application for each. For instance if you love TweetCaster you can set it as your Preferred Twitter application. Then when you read something on the Twitter tab just tap the screen and it will launch TweetCaster for you!

All in all, the layout and design are amazing. It’s simple to set up and is customizable to your color scheme and preferences. I have been using this app for months and have never had a force close personally. I highly recommend it to all my friends and anyone that is looking for a simpler and cleaner way of staying touch with people.

This app has been tested on MyTouch 3G original, Fender, T-Mobile G1 and a Motorola CLIQ. No issues reported by any of the users to me at least.
