Acer to announce 21.5″ all-in-one Android PC for about $400

Acer android pc
The title got me all excited, then the rest of the information got me depressed. You be the judge though. Acer is due to announce their new all-in-one (AIO) PC. Rather than packing Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 into the machine, they are packing it with Android. Which is cool, but how practical is it? The Acer AIO is said to be packing inside a 3GHz Core i5 4430 processor, “Haswell”. Again, sounds great. Then comes the rest of the information that Cnet had to relay, It will only have 1GB of RAM and various memory storage options starting at 8GB with a starting price at about $400.

While the price seems attractive for an AIO machine running just Android, it loses my interest at the RAM and memory. Boost it to 2GB of RAM minimum and start at 32GB internal storage for the same price, and you have something to talk about. On a side note though, a few videos that we searched out did show a few more details then Cnet dropped. Such as the ability to use it as an external display to give your laptop touch functionality. I could see a use for this sitting in my kitchen for G+ Hangouts, watching movies and streaming content. Still, I am not sold on it as a necessity to live my life. What do you guys think? Does it need more?
