There’s quite a bit of info here to cover, but we all know you guys drool for specs, even if it isn’t a Nexus. The new HDX line certainly has some impressive sounding attributes to it for the Amazon centric person. For starters, both pack in a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processors clocked at 2.2 GHz with a Adreno 330 graphics engine, 2GB of RAM, 11 hours of battery life and dual stereo speakers with Dolby Digital Plus Audio.
They are stating the HDX screen resolution is “beyond HD” the 7-inch sporting a 1920 x 1200 res scree with a ppi of 323. The 8.9-inch version sports a 2560×1600 res screen with a ppi of 339. Not to mention the claim of “perfect 100% sRGB color accuracy, reduced glare, dynamic image contrast and improved brightness for those outdoorsy types. We can’t forget to mention the rear and front facing cameras. The rear shooter is 8MP with LED flash and capable of 1080p video recording
The battery life is sporting off at 11 hours of mixed use and 17 hours of just reading. Both the 7-inch and 8.9-inch HDX tablets will also have LTE provided rom AT&T and, surprisingly enough, Verizon.
If none of that sounds at least a little bit interesting to you, how about some of the other crazy new things they added. Like a MayDay button to get live 24/7 support. Second Screen to let you fling what you are watching on your tablet to Playstation 3 and Samsung TVs with Playstation 4 support coming later. It will also support any Miracast-enabled device as well.
