It seems like forever that we’ve been waiting for Android 4.4 KitKat to be pushed to our devices, but it looks like Google is starting that roll-out today. They announced via their social media that Android 4.4 for Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 will start being able to receive the highly anticipated KitKat OTA (over-the-air) update from today.
The devices to be updated does include both the 2012 and 2013 Nexus 7 models, though Google was careful to specify that data versions of the tablet and the Nexus 4 would be receiving their updates at a later date. Judging by previous roll-outs of OTA updates, the actual date the OTA update will be available for your device will depend on your region. But feel free to keep checking whether software updates are available!
