Samsung is a pretty rigid company when it comes to releasing software updates, meaning its most recent flagship devices will always get their updates first, followed by the next recent, and so on and so forth. Whether by freak miracle or divine intervention, that tradition has somehow been broken today as Android 6.0 for the Galaxy Note 4 (yes, the phablet from 2014) has dropped today in Hungary. Judging by the location and timing of the update, we can only assume the trigger was accidentally pulled on releasing the update – but we’d like to be surprised.
Either way, Galaxy Note 4 owners get to have a look at what the next version of the software is going to look like. For all intents and purposes, the TouchWiz UI of Android 6.0 looks exactly the same as it did on Android Lollipop, but there are some subtle improvements, such as the new Air Command introduced on the Galaxy Note 5 and apparently the UI works smoother overall. At this point we’ll have to wait and see whether Samsung officially addresses this, but if it turns out to be an official roll-out, you’ll hear about it right here.
