Another X-Phone benchmark, this time running Android 4.2.2

Another week, another X-Phone benchmark. News from RBMen has reported a curious AnTuTu benchmark on a phone shown to be a XT1055. Running Android 4.2.2, this benchmark is suspected to be tied to one of the X-Phone variants, that have a large cloud of mystery and doubt behind them. Have a look at the benchmark screenshot below:

X-Phone

RBMen also reports that this XT1055 is equipped with a 1.7GHz Snapdragon CPU and has listed what looks like a list of 3 other variants for the “X-Phone”. This actually makes a bit of sense as it has been reported that the X-Phone will in fact be a range of Android phones rather than a single flagship phone.

It also makes a bit of sense to be running 4.2.2 since we now know that Key Lime Pie 5.0 won’t be coming to Android phones any time too soon. However, we do also know the next build of Android will probably be 4.3 (pretty unanimously too as evidenced here, here and here), so I would have expected a ‘X-Phone’ to already be testing with 4.3 on-board. This is all conjecture of course based on this one benchmark, so you’ll have to make your own mind up about this. It does seem a bit too convenient somehow though…

What do you think about this? Is this a real ‘X-Phone’, or just another fake AnTuTu benchmark? Put your suspicions and conspiracy theories below.
