While both launchers are fairly similar, some people have better luck with one instead of the other. On Friday the free version of Apex launcher updated while simultaneously dropping a Pro version of the app too. Below is what you can expect to find in the most recent update –
What’s in this version:
- Apex Launcher Pro is now on Google Play!
- v1.1.0
- Added pinch in gesture option
- Launch shortcut option for gestures
- Added vertical dock margin option
- Added Root Helper (see tips)
- Wallpaper mode option (see tips)
- Improved performance and reduced redraws
- Improved gestures
- Fixed a landscape dock bug
- Fixed a bug with vertical drawer
- Various optimizations and bug fixes
- Updated translations
- New permissions are used for unread count notifications in the pro version.
The Pro version of the app is a just a licence key. It unlocks some of the Pro only features you will find inside the free version. With more devices landing like the Galaxy Nexus on Sprint, The HTC One S for T-Mobile and the soon to launch HTC One X for AT&T, having launcher options is a good thing. IF you haven’t given Apex launcher feel free to grab the free version below and give it a shot. If you find yourself loving it and want to not only support the developers but gain a few more perks then pick up the pro key. Don’t forget, much like Nova launcher, Apex launcher only works on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) based devices.
