[App] Aix Weather – A slightly new twist on a Weather Widget

We recently started a discussion on our twitter feed asking which weather app everyone liked best. A lot of the big names  came up like BeWeather, Weather Bug Elite and I think I even remember seeing Beautiful Widgets too. After seeing what everyone was talking about, I decided it was time to find a new weather widget so I wouldn’t part of the in crowd. That’s when I came across Aix Weather Widget by Per Magnus Veierland.

No one had mentioned it before, but after taking a look at the screen shots, the high star rating and the huge number of downloads, I wondered why I hadn’t seen it before.

As you can tell in the screen shots, the widget is set up and designed to be a 4X1 widget in portrait mode. It will work in landscape mode but hasn’t been fully adapted for it or for tablets as of late. You have many variants to its appearance and its operation available to you in the settings. You can change the background, widget boarder color, day and night effects and many more.

I think there might be 2 reason that people aren’t talking more about this weather widget. First, there is no crazy animations available, nor when you tap it does it provide any forecasting effects. Second, there is no clock bundled with it. I don’t always think that is a necessity, but other might. Still, this widget offers enough option to customize it to your appear how you want it to, you get the 24 hour forecast displayed in a very nice graph that is easy to see and read. I think it is a very nicely done widget that everyone should at least take a look at.
