App Review: Wakka Wallpaper

Developer Jake Wharton is throwin’ it back 80’s style with his live wallpaper that emulates the iconic 1980’s arcade game, PacMan. The wallpaper is currently available in the Android Market for $1, which is a very reasonable price to have this highly customizable wallpaper running on your homescreen. Jake has made his own video showing off the wallpaper and the many features available.

This is the ideal wallpaper for those that love PacMan and would love to show it off to their Apple fanboy friends or even those who just enjoy novelties from their childhood. As you can see in the screenshots above, for WGVA display devices, the dots outline your icons so you’ll never have to miss out on watching the yellow “chomper” gobble up all of the dots while the ghosts chase him. If your device runs a different display, this wallpaper can be customized to support it. For those that run custom launchers and prefer 5 rows and columns, Jake has also made this wallpaper to fit your desired setting.

Do you have what it takes to join Jake with development? This is Jake’s first live wallpaper as he is new to the Android development community.  He’s very open to input and feedback and you can find out more in his thread on XDA.  Head over there if you’re interested in helping out or just want to find out more.
