AT&T to launch ‘Red’ Galaxy S III, 16GB SD card deal and Preorders start June 6th

I really wish there was a way for us to make a huge ‘sigh’ sound in writing. I would really make or thoughts and feeling about this latest Samsung Galaxy S III information a little more interesting, or offensive. Either way, seems as though not all the carriers are going to be satisfied with having the highly anticipated Galaxy S III device on their network. While many of us were relieved to see the carriers either opting to or being forced to, keep Samsung’s latest flagship device as-is, AT&T had to push something different out. Yes, apparently they have plans to roll out a red variant of the device. We would have pegged this sort of thing to happen with Verizon, but oh well.

It is also interesting to note that AT&T‘s press release makes no mention of a 32GB model of the SIII. They do however mention an in store deal to get a 16GB SD card for only $39. We bet they opted to not sell the 32GB model to bring the exclusive red color to their customers. Along with the news of an exclusive color option, they too will start taking pre-orders for the normal pebble blue and marble white versions starting June 6th. Looks like no one is going to have to jump ship for the S III like previous device launches.

We know that the carrier variations of the S III are pretty much limited to pre-loaded software, but does a different color make that big of a difference in someones day? Will any of you hold out from buying one just so you can have a red one? Everything else about the device will be the same across all carriers. We really hope this is a new trend. It would bring carriers back to what they were built to be in the first place, a service provider.
