You may have heard about the Augen Tablet, the 0ff-brand Android tablet that showed up in a Kmart ad out of nowhere and has sold out just as quickly. I stopped by my local Kmart today to see if they had any more in stock. Unfortunately, the answer to that question was no, but the nice sales associate helpfully informed me that due a problem with the manufacturer, devices won’t be shipping again until September.
For $150, the Augen tablet doesn’t look all that bad:

Engadget was one of the few to snag a tablet, and their review isn’t that great. To sum up, it’s a cheaply priced, cheaply made tablet that still has some bugs to work out.
