Artem, from AndroidPolice, had a brilliant idea. Lets compare boot times for 3 various HTC devices against the recently released Epic 4G Touch. Why might this be important you ask. Well consider the fact that you may need to restart your device for some unknown reason, say it froze or something. The time it takes for the device to reload is time spent waiting and not time spent enjoying your device. It can not only be frustrating but get in the way of your life. So check it out, I think you will be extremely surprised.
The setup:
- Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch , unrooted, running stock, filled with more apps than any of the other three devices. It also has an external SD card full of music, which causes the media scanner to run for a bit.
- HTC EVO 3D , unrooted, running stock. This is the wife’s phone, so it has maybe 1/4 of the amount of apps compared to the E4GT.
- HTC EVO 4G, rooted, running CM7. It has about the same number of apps compared to the E4GT – this is my previous device that I upgraded from (and so glad I did).
- HTC Thunderbolt , unrooted, running bare stock with maybe a 1-2 apps installed.
