Samsung to finally bring the Galaxy S Wi-Fi 3.6 to US Shores

The Samsung Galaxy S Wi-Fi 3.6 is a device that could bring people a lot of joy for a decent price tag. The SGS Wi-Fi is a portable media player with slightly slimmed down specs and running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). Designed to bring the joys and wonders of Android to consumers hands with out the need to buy a pricey phone or sign a contract. The device uses a 1GHz Hummingbird processor to a push the OS to your 3.6-inch LCD display at a 800 x 480 resolution. Looking very similar to the original Galaxy S phones, but with a slightly smaller screen. It has a 2mp rear facing camera with a VGA front facing one for self portraits and video chatting. It will have access to the Play Store and be utilizing a version of TouchWiz for the UI. You will have the usual aspects of a smartphone at hand like web browsing, video playback, Social Networks and Google Maps. There is also Bluetooth 3.0, an FM radio, 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom, micro SD slot for more storage and should come in an 8GB or 16B base model at launch just like in Europe.

The current price tags for these overseas is about $180. Making it a great price point for PMP that gives you more than you could ever need. While it might be last years model over there, it would be making its first debut here in the stats sometime this year. I don’t know about you guys, but I am looking forward to it being released. I am constantly on the search for another Galaxy S device for under $200 simple for media and games. Having kids that are dying for an iPod touch, this would be much more suitable for me and for them.

There is no exact pricing announced nor is there a launch date specified just yet. When it does land state side are you gonna run down and pick one up too?
