Comcast releases XFINITY Mobile app, now available on the Android Market

 

It been a long time coming but it’s finally here. After months and months of release push backs, Comcast has finally released the official XFINITY Mobile app for its subscribers. The new app boasts of some promising features that might make other cable providers jealous. The Xfinity Mobile app on Android is available for free to Comcast customers. Here is a scoop of what is featured in this app.

The Xfinity app features the ability to:
•       Access home voicemail and forward home phone calls from your Xfinity® Voice service directly to your Android device;
•       Use the Xfinity mobile widget to quickly review your latest voicemail and email messages;
•       Sync your Universal Address Book to have all your personal and professional contacts in one place;
•       Review and respond to Comcast.net email;
•       Remotely program and manage your DVRs so you never miss a show;
•       View local TV listings, sort by different categories and watch Video On Demand movie trailers.


Some features unique to Android devices on the Xfinity Mobile App include:
•       Widgets: lets you see the two most recent email and voice mail messages; listen to voice mail messages right from the widget.

•       Data Storage: android allows access to storage on the devices, so you can store attachments or other files and also upload files as attachments when sending email.

The app is already available on Android Market right now for free. If you are a Comcast customer you can download the app now and report back with comments.
