Getting your hands on an early release look at an app that is being updated, hopefully for the better, is always a fun way to spend the weekend. Looks like those fantastic gurus over at AndroidPolice have managed to land themselves a test build of a newly redesigned Facebook APK. Â (probably through the beta testing program that is going on) As you can see in the images, the new design aims more at the flat approach that we have all been seeing more and more frequently with Pinterest, Twitter and others.
Don’t go getting all excited about it though. While the APK is available for your installing pleasure, what you see above is not what you will get. It would seem that the changes to the overall look are server side pushes. Meaning that while you might have this cool new test build, you won’t have the cool new look.
You most likely will need to uninstall the current Facebook app before giving this one a go. I have seen some comments at AP where the app will auto update in the Play Store back to 3.9 if you don’t disable the auto updates for it after installing this version.
