Yesterday Verizon announced the Droid will be getting an update to firmware version 2.0.1. The release will include minor API changes, bug fixes, and some framework changes as well. This update will come over the air, and should be pushed to Droids everywhere, within the next few weeks.
Today Verizon announced that the Droid Eris will also be receiving an update. This update will combine the ever popular Sense UI with android 2.0. The Eris was originally released with 1.5 firmware. The change is set to take place sometime in the first quarter of 2010.
