DROID Fighter images surface, the next RAZR variant Already?

A few weeks ago we caught a look at an internal Verizon document that listed a few devices. Among the names was the DROID Fighter. Most likely a code name for the device at the time, it was still intriguing. Now it appears that a few details and a photo have made its way out of the testing vaults. The device seen in the image above is what Phone UK is calling the DROID Fighter, for now any ways. They seem to be on point when it comes to leaked devices and confirming information. A few things an astute observer might notice is the design looks identical to the current DROID RAZR/MAXX, with the exception of the missing soft keys located at the bottom. Leading us to believe that this will launch, hopefully, with Android 4.0 pre-loaded and be using the onscreen keys like the Galaxy Nexus.

Additionally, there is talk of a  3300 mAh battery built-in. Which would bring the second device to the carrier to house an exceptionally large battery. Screen is pegged at 4.6-inches with a 720p display. Similar to the Galaxy Nexus only losing .05-inches. It would be the first full HD screen Motorola device to land in the U.S. The previously leaked document pegged this to be launched, or at least announced, on April 12th of this year. It is unclear if this will be marketed as another RAZR or if the Fighter name will stick. We lean towards DROID RAZR MAXX HD personally.

What are your thoughts? We looking at another new RAZR MAXX? Is Motorola looking to make the same mistake that HTC did last by  putting out to many devices that are similar in a short time? Time will tell I suppose, we just hope the Moto UI has been toned way down and we see more ICS than Blur.
